As a kid I used to love listening to the Ramayana story. When the serial was telecast on television , i tried not to miss even a single episode. At that time I was too young to understand complications. I always thought King Janak was sita's father. Ofcourse he was the one who brought her up but I did not know who was her biological father. Recently , I watched a serial called Ravan. It was from that serial that I came to know that Sita's biological father was Ravan. According to that serial , it was predicted that the daughter of Ravan and Mandodari will be responsible for Ravan's death. So Ravan ordered a trusted soldier of his to kill the baby girl immediately after her birth. The soldier did not kill the baby and left her in a field. It was King Janak who found the baby and brought her up as his own daughter. This is all I know . If any of the readers know more about this topic please enlighten me.
